Summer Conference

I spent most of this week in Boise for a summer conference. Although, in my opinion, I don't think it was worth the $400 the school spent to send me up there, it did give me the opportunity to see my friend Christine whom I haven't seen for about 2 years. It was so good to see her. We graduated together and were roommates when we did our student teaching. She has since married and has a cute little baby girl.

Me, Christine, Grace (her baby), Nina (her mom), and Erin (my friend and fellow teacher at my school)

We were out at the fair grounds and saw that there were some horse races going on so we went over to see if we could get in just to see what it was like. It turns out it was free entrance, so we went in and watched a horse race. It was pretty boring until we started making bets (amongst ourselves, without money) on which horse would win. The first time my horse came in second, and the second, mine came in dead last. It was fun anyway. There is twenty min. between each race so they can smooth out the track and people have time to go down and make their bets.

It was good to see you too! So many memories! Give me a call when you have a minute I have a few questions to ask your opinion on about teacher in-service and credits. Anyway, you are good at advice! Hope to see you again some time!

At least you can add horse racing to things you have done in life.
